Ingredients:

2 cups flour
3½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cloves
½ cup shortening
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 to 1/2 cup unbeaten eggs

 Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening, milk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Add unbeaten eggs. Beat 2 minutes. Pour into two 9" greased cake pans. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
