Ingredients: 2¼ cups cake flour |

Directions: Sift flour, measure , add baking powder, salt spices, sugar and sift again into a large mixing bowl. Drop in shortening, add molasses. Add vanilla to milk and pour ¾ cup into bowl. Beat two minutes bu the clock, beating at least 150 strokes for each minute. Add remaining milk and unbeaten eggs. Beat 2 minutes longer. Scrape bowl and spoon frequently. Pour into two greased 9" layer pans. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 25 minutes. |
