Sponge Cake

 Ingredients:

6 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 pinch alt
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
¼ cup cold water

 Directions:

Beat egg yolks until pale yellow, add sugar, beat well and add cold water, then flour and vanilla. Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until stiff. Fold egg whites lightly into egg mixture and bake in ungreased tin at 325 degrees for 30 minutes than finish at 360 degrees for an additional 30 minutes. Let cool and cut out.
