Ingredients:

1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2½ cups flour
½ cup shortening
1 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch salt

 Directions:

Add baking soda to slou milk. Add ingredients in order listed. Beat well, makes it finer. Bake in 9" x 13" pan. Needs no icing. Nuts may be added if desired.
