Shredded Wheat Bread

 Ingredients:

2 cups boiling water
2 shredded wheat biscuits, crumbled
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup molasses
3 tablespoons shortening
2 yeast cakes
1/2 cup lukewarm water
6 cups flour

 Directions:

Pour boiling water over shredded wheat biscuits. Add salt, sugar, molasses and shortening. Add yeast cakes dissolved in lukewarm water. Mix well, add flour until mixture form a firm dough.
Let rise overnight in oven (cover) or until double in bulk. Then cut down, add a little more flour to make a stiffer dough. Form into loaves or bisciuts and let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes; then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 40 to 50 minutes. Bake biscuits 30 minutes in 400 degree oven.
