Raisin Cinnamon Roll

 Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
¼ cup shortening
½ to ¾ cup milk
1 cup raisins
2 cups hot water
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup confectioners sugar
2 teaspoons cold water
chopped nuts (optional)

 Directions:

Sift flour, salt, sugar and baking powder together. Cut in shortening. Add milk until mixture is like biscuit dough. Put dough on floured board and flatten. Drain raisins. Spread dough with raisins, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Roll up like a jelly roll. Bake 25 minutes in 400 degree oven.

Frosting: Mix confectioners sugar and cold water. Spread on rolls while they are still hot. Sprinkle with your favorite nuts for a special treat.
