Orange-Lemon Cake

 Ingredients:

2½ cups cake flour
2½ teaspoons baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
2/3 cup shortening
1½ cups sugar
3 eggs, unbeaten
2 teaspoons lemon juice
¾ cup milk

 Directions:

Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt. Sift together three times. Add lemon and orange rind to shortening and cream well. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add flour alternately with lemon juice, then add milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition. Bake 395 degrees for 30 minutes.
