Glorified Ginger Bread

 Ingredients:

2 cups flour
½ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in sour milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg, beaten

 Directions:

Combine flour, shortening and sugar. Set aside 1 cupful for topping. To the remainder add molasses, sour milk (with baking soda) cinnamon and beaten egg. Stir together, Put in pan, sprinkle cup of crumbs over top, and bake.
